The Memorial after unveiling.
At the Reunion in April 2004 the Memorial Plaque was unveiled by the Deputy Mayor, councillor Hilary Jones, after the Rev John Bates, from the Westbourne Road Methodist Church, had blessed it.

In the April issue of Update, it was reported that the Memorial had been Damaged possibly by a vehicle carrying out a manouver. The photos below shows how it was before and after the damage.
After being demolished some time later, the reason why it was decided to put a larger Memorial in it's place.
